Hey Radiohead, do you suppose if your lives improve (hard to imagine, what with your worldwide fame not to mention whatever kinda fortune comes with that), and you have to start writing songs about being happy... do you suppose your still depressed fans will call you sellouts and find someone else's music to slit their wrists to? It's not like it hasn't happened before...

But then, then you'd get depressed again wouldn't you? Because the work you'd devoted your life to stopped being successful in the only way you can remember to measure it. And with your rediscovered depression, you'd go and you'd write a new, astonishingly moving album. Which no one will listen to, because it's obviously just for the money, those goddamned sellouts, hey what's this, the new Coldplay?
Or maybe sad songs and waltzes aren't selling this year.
